April 26, 2008

TACA Airlines has announced that as of July 1st 2008, they will start new services from their Lima Hub to the beautiful city Rio de Janeiro. The once capital of Brazil, Rio is much more than an exciting city that never sleeps. Its a city full of culture and history.

The world famous “Cristo do Corcovado” and the Pao de Acucar (Sugar Loaf). The beaches of Copacabana and Ipanema (including the Moca de Ipanema), the caipirinhas at night and the rich culinary experiences. Not too far from the city by Guanabara Bay is also Petropolis, the Imperial City with Palaces included, long gone era when Brazil was the only Empire in the Americas.
TACA offers routes from San Francisco, Oakland, Los Angles, Houston, Dallas, Chicago, Miami, Washington DC, and New York (JFK) to their Central American hubs in San Jose, Costa Rica and San Salvador, El Salvador.  Connections to Lima are offered from both of those hubs.  From Lima TACA offers connections to Santiago, Chile; La Paz, Bolivia; Buenos Aires, Argentina; Montevideo, Uruguay; Sao Paulo, Brazil and NOW Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
